Our Story

KEMET was founded with a singular focus: build the most reliable passive components available to the electronics industry. Starting with tantalum capacitors for military and aerospace applications, we expanded into ceramic, aluminum electrolytic, polymer, and film technologies to meet growing demand from commercial markets.

Our vertical integration strategy means we control every step from raw material qualification through final test and shipment. This gives us traceability that component brokers and trading companies simply cannot match, which matters when your end product is a cardiac pacemaker or an autonomous driving module.
